Skřeti * Goblins

  Černý les byl domovem mnoha tvorů. K těm nebezpečným, na které mohl člověk narazit, patřili skřeti. Krutá stvoření milující lidské maso. Většinou měli co dělat s boji mezi sebou a nevšímali si nešťastníků, kteří se usídlili mimo hradby v dohledu lesa.

  Ale v těch dobách zavládli svým kmenům čtyři, na skřetí poměry, moudří náčelníci. Ti spolu dokázali uzavřít příměří a to byla pro lidi z okolních zemích naprostá tragédie. Jakmile se přestali skřeti mezi sebou hašteřit, měli dostatek sil lovit lidi. Mnoho lidí chytili a snědli.

  Nejlepší a největší sousta dostávali náčelníci, a tak zmohutněli a nakynuli. Byli skoro tak velcí jako obři a každý se jich bál; lidi i skřeti. Byli tak tlustí, že už je neunesly vlastní nohy, proto je nosila početná skupina silných skřetů.

  Lorik moc dobře skřety znal, ale příliš ho nezajímali. Živí pro něj byli příliš tupí a neužiteční. Nemrtvý Žebírko mu plně dostačoval, ba co víc vyhovoval mu. Nedokázal odmlouvat a věrně sloužil. Lorika si skřeti nevšímali proto, že jim nevoněl a měli z něj strach. Viděli ho ovládat hromy a těch se skřeti tuze báli, protože v lese způsobovaly požáry. Se vším všudy bylo pro obě strany toto soužití prospěšné - do lesa se neodvážili ani velcí dobrodruzi!

  Dark forest was home to many creatures. Very dangerous to people were goblins. They were cruel and loved human meat. They had a lot trouble just dealing with tribe fights and didn't bother the men living too close to the forest.

  But in that time four wise (in goblin point of view) chieftains made peace. It was a real tragedy to people living in these lands. As soon as the goblins stopped fighting each other they started to hunt people down. Many settlers were caught and eaten. The chieftains got the best pieces of human flesh and therefore got so big. They were as big as some giants. All four were too fat to walk so a group of the strongest goblins had to carry them around.

  Lorik knew the goblins very well, but he didn't care about them. Goblins were too stupid and of no use to him. Only his undead Ribs was good enough for him as he couldn't talk back to him. Goblins also didn't care about Lorik as he didn't smell good and he could control the thunderstorm. Goblins were too much afraid of thunderstorms because they caused wildfires. Both sides profited from their neighbours - no hero was so foolish to come close to the Dark forest!
