Jak pokračovali na jih, vzduch byl teplejší a ubývalo sněhu. Cestou jim Borek vyprávěl snad všechno, co o obrech věděl.
"...věděli ste, že prvního obra stvořili Bohové dávno věku? Žil daleko na jihu, byl jednooký a prý podpíral nebe. Myslím, že nebyl dost trpělivý; chtěl se toulat po světě, jako jeho trolí bratranec. Pustil oblohu a z hvězd, které dopadly na Zem se zrodili první čarodějové. Noc byla dlouhá stovky let, než se podařilo čarodějům obra přelstít, aby opět podržel oblohu a pak ho proměnili na kámen. Za dlouhá staletí se obr rozpadl na kusy, které dodnes známe jako Skořicové hory.
No a tihle naši obři jsou jeho potomci. Zkoumal jsem to podrobněji a přišel jsem na to, že obr při nočním potulování musel mít spoustu družek. Jenže jak byla tma jako v pytli, tak nikdo neví koho. A pro ty ženy to asi taky bylo lepší, našel jsem v jedné staré kouzelnické knize jeho portrét a žádný krasavec to nebyl.
Největší záhadou je, proč spí. Je to už celá staletí, co všichni obři usnuli a zkameněli jako jejich předek. Já si myslím, že se to stalo za Velké mely. A nikdo vlastně neví, jak je probudit; kdo by je nakonec taky chtěl budit? Jsem rád, že nepobíhají kolem a nepáchají nějaké škody.
Za ty roky, co je zkoumám, jsem jich tu našel 126. Každý je úplně jiný, některý jsou veliký, jiný ani ne dvakrát vyšší než člověk. Toho největšího, zatím, jsem našel u Černého lesa. Rozdělil jsem je na druhy jednooké a dvouoké, potom se dělí na spící na břiše, na boku a vzácné - spící na zádech..."
Byla to opravdu vyčerpávající přednáška. Borek takto nadšeně dokázal povídat hodiny. Šimonovi s Ludvíkem už pomalu třeštila hlava, když konečně uviděli na horizontu Železné město - královské město. Místo, kde se nacházela i čarodějnická univerzita a žilo tu nejvíce čarodějů v zemi.

As the three wizards continued the journey South the weather got warm and there was less snow. Woody was describing everything he knew about giants.
"...did you know the first giant was created by the Old gods? He lived far in the South, had one eye only and he was supposed to hold the sky. I think he must have been impatient; he set of to explore the World as did his trollish cousin. The giant let the sky fall and from the stars were the first wizards born. The night was long and cold at these times. Then the wizards figured how to trick the giant to hold the sky again and they turned him to stone. After long centuries he crumbled to pieces which are known as the Cinnamon mountains.
Today's giants are his sons. I found out he had many wifes during his journey. But no one knows who they were as it was too dark. Luckily for the women as well; I found a picture of the first giant in a very old magic book and I have to tell you, he wasn't prince charming.
For me the greatest mistery is, why are they asleep. It's been like that for centuries. I think it must have happened in the Big clash. Nobody knows how to wake them up, but who would want that. At least they don't run around and can't do any damage.
I have been able to find 126 of them untill now. Each is a individual, some are huge, some are not even twice the hight of men. The biggest one was the giant by the Dark forest. I divided them in two kinds; one-eyed and two-eyed. I found them sleeping on the belly, on the side, but rarely sleeping on their back..."
It was really exhausting to listen to Woody for hours. Simon and Luis started to have a headache, when they finally could see the Iron city - the King's home. It was also home to many wizards as well as to the Academy of wizardly arts.
